The University of Southern Mississippi held it’s annual Founder’s Day on March 30, commemorating 105 years of excellence in the Southern Miss community.
“Anytime you can pause and celebrate the accomplishments of a university, it’s important,” said Dr. Rodney Bennett.
Several students and faculty gathered in the Bennett Auditorium on the campus of Southern Miss to celebrate the event and give out annual awards for the students, as well as faculty.
For Founder’s Day this year, awards that were given out included induction into the Southern Miss Hall of Fame, Who’s Who award, Leave it Better than you Found It Award, as well as many others.
“Just to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, it eclipses everything I’ve done up to this point,” said Wilton Jackson.
