Things haven't gone as smoothly as anticipated for a coach that only knows how to win.
Southern Miss Women's Head softball coach Wendy Hogue is in the midst of her first season at Southern Miss, establishing a winning legacy early on. Despite her recent losses, Hogue still is optimistic about her future as the Lady Eagle head coach.
“All of our victories as well as all of our losses haven't been on the field,” said Hogue. "Once everybody has bought in to what we want to do with Southern Miss softball, look out because good things are going to happen."
After starting the season 15-6, the Lady Eagles have stumbled out to a 18-31 record, including 3-18 in Conference USA play. With early wins against Detroit, UTSA and Mississippi Valley State, the Southern Miss Lady Eagles had lost their last 19 out of 20 games.
With Coach Hogue's past experience, the turnaround is near for the Lady Eagles.
