You may not know it, but Hattiesburg played a pivotal role in what has been termed “the craft beer movement” in Mississippi.
After beer enthusiasts convinced the state legislature to allow beers with up to 8% alcohol content in the state of Mississippi, craft breweries sprang up all over the Magnolia State. Hattiesburg, home to the Keg and Barrel and numerous beer-lovers who did their part to reform Mississippi beer laws, is also now home to Southern Prohibition Brewing Company.
Whitney Miracle, the brand manager of SoPro Brewing, discusses her role in the microbrewery, talks of her work thus far with Southern Prohibition and shares the story of how a one-man microbrewery became what it is today.
