The Fresh Food Company is the main provider of food on the Southern Miss campus. It is operated by the Aramark Corporation, which also operates several other food venues on the Southern Miss Campus.
More manpower is required at The Fresh than any other food venue on campus. All of this work is tasked to a limited staff of both veteran and green-horn employees.
Lines of students waiting to enter regularly stretch out the doors during lunch rush hour. During these times those at the two registers must stay on their toes.
“These employees work tirelessly to feed a whole campus,” says Aramark Director of Operations John Meyer, “Some of our employees are multi-year veterans of the Fresh and others are first-years, but they all do their part to serve the students, faculty, and staff of this campus.” On an average day the Fresh sees more than 2000 customers.
The Fresh Food Company is open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Friday-Saturday and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sundays.
